We are incredibly lucky to have an offer from Professor David Hawksworth CBE to lead a ‘fungal excursion’ (he knows this makes me smile every time I say or write it!) into Teazle Wood. Numbers are limited, and our heritage Teazle tours booked up straight away, so do book early to avoid disappointment.

Sunday 13 October, 2013, 11.00 – 13.00 hrs

Fungi in Teazle Wood (Leatherhead Common, Surrey): An introduction to the
mushrooms and other fungi (and lichens) appearing in the wood this season, and their natural history, by Professor David Hawksworth CBE. A walk through the woods, recently purchased by the Friends of Teazle Wood to save it from development, followed by a display of finds and lunchtime refreshments.

Meet at the Fire and Iron Gallery, Oxshott Road, Leatherhead KT22 0EN (ample
free parking). Suggested donation of £10 per adult to Teazle Wood (interested children over 10 who would inspired by an academic insight are welcome free of charge, but must still be booked in and must be accompanied and supervised by a booked adult). Numbers limited, so please book by phone on 01372
386453 or by e-mail to lucyquinnell@aol.com

Saturday 25th May 2013, 2pm-5pm. Professional photographer, David Spink, is running a fund raising workshop called  ‘Getting off Auto’ & ‘MACRO’ in Teazle Wood, Leatherhead, Surrey. The workshop will concentrate on helping participants to better understand the potential of their cameras and how to control shutter speed, aperture and depth of field. David will illustrate the above by focusing on MACRO (close-up) photography of the plethora of wild flowers starting to emerge in the wood. Cost £35, booking essential. Please see events for more information.
